Historic Churches of Rio Free Tour

A walking tour through the old heart of the city reveals how faith, power and society were intertwined in the formation of Rio de Janeiro.

The route begins in the port region and continues to Largo São Francisco de Paula, connecting key churches to understand the city's history and urban, political and cultural contexts.

Each church reveals not only faith, but power, art and resistance. A tour of these spaces is a complete cultural experience: architecture, history and identity in the heart of downtown Rio.
