Description

This isn't a dry history walk. It's a journey through time in Bern's Old Town — a UNESCO World Heritage Site where history, politics, legends and real Swiss life come together.

You will discover what makes Switzerland so unique, the mentality of its people, how history has shaped everyday life and why this small country fascinates the world.

The experience is filled with stories, surprising facts and fascinating details you won’t find in any guidebook — all explained in a clear, simple, and engaging way, with a bit of humor along the way, while walking through streets full of history and enjoying a beautiful walk along the Aare River.

During the tour, we’ll return again and again to one of Switzerland’s favorite topics — money — and to Bern’s symbol: the bear.

By the end, you won’t just know Bern — you’ll understand Switzerland.

Insightful Overview of Bern

The tour is a good way to get an overview of Bern specially if you only have a day or two. Barto was quite insightful by giving us history, politics, way of life for people in Bern. He also set the “lay of the land” by showing us a map, transport and general direction. Pretty good for 2.5hrs! Worth it!
