Description

Within the Colombian conflict, Medellín has a difficult but important place, it has been both the epicenter of the war and the urban victims, as well as the example of the transition towards peace and the post-conflict. Starting at Parque San Antonio through downtown and finishing at Casa Museo de Memoria, you will delve into that particularity of the city, while you discover its stories and get to know its main actors.

You will learn about the changes that the violence there has had from 1982 to 2015, delving into what happened after the Medellín Cartel (this is NOT a Pablo Escobar tour) with "Donbernabilidad" and how that past is present today.

You will delve into the multiple characters and institutions that have acted in this context of war, peace, and resistance, discussing their motivations, practices, and transformations. Our specialized guides will accompany you with their knowledge and experiences in exploring the dynamics of that deep "Medallo".

Dare to go further and be surprised by the efforts of people to overcome their dark past and create a better present.

One of the most interesting walking tours we’ve ever done

We very thoroughly enjoyed this tour and learning about Colombian and Medellin history from Miguel. The history of conflict and violence was explained from its very roots up until today and Miguel had some great examples and comparisons to make it very comprehensive. We had lots of stops with options to sit and grab a coffee as well. Miguel was also happy to answer any question we had. We can only recommend anyone visiting Medellin to take this tour.

Very enjoyable tour

Federico was a really enjoyable and smart guide

Amazing!

Tour with Sebastian Villa. Amazing tour, very enthusiastic and interesting. Maybe it could be shortened a bit, it is hard to concentrate on all the important information for 3,5 hours. But other than that great!

Great information a little bit chaotic place-wise

It was a great free tour (where you usually give around 50K COP). Our guide Frederic was really good and gave us all the important information about the conflicts around Medellín but the places were a little bit randomly chosen. Would recommend the tour but not do it again :)

highly recommended!

Manuel was an amazing, very competent and helpful guide. I highly recommend to do this tour. He answered to all of our questions and he took plenty of time for the tour. It was very informative, thank you so much!!

Really great tour!

Manuel was soooo great! He really likes his job and really wants you to understand. Also it seems like he’s proud of his country and does the job to change its image. I really liked that no question was asked bad one.
