Description

Most tours of Sal Island only make a brief stop in Palmeira. Visitors take a few photos of the harbor before continuing on their way.

This experience invites you to discover this iconic village in a different way—through its residents, its traditions, and its unique atmosphere.

Together, we’ll stroll through the narrow streets of Palmeira, watch the fishing boats, and discover daily life in one of the most authentic villages on the island of Sal. You’ll learn more about its history, local traditions, and the vital role of fishing in Cape Verdean culture.

Throughout the walk, I’ll share anecdotes with you about life on Sal and what gives Palmeira its soul.

We’ll wrap up the experience at a restaurant popular with locals, where everyone is free to choose their own meal and drinks. It’s an opportunity to discover local flavors and, depending on the day’s catch, enjoy fresh fish, seafood, or even lobster.

Much more than just a tour, this experience invites you to discover the soul of Palmeira and the authentic character of the island of Sal.

Amazing

The discovery of Palmeira was already a wonderful experience, but the lunch really made it complete. Ending the visit over freshly prepared fish in a local atmosphere made us feel like we were truly experiencing Palmeira rather than simply visiting it. It was simple, delicious and welcoming. A beautiful way to discover Cape Verdean culture through both its people and its cuisine.

AMAZING!!!

Thank you for this wonderful time of immersion with these wonder

I never thought that a simple visit to a small village would leave such a lasting impression on me. During my stay on Sal, I wanted to discover something beyond the beaches and resorts. Visiting Palmeira turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. I really enjoyed taking the time to walk through the village, watching the fishermen return with their catch, talking to the locals, and discovering their daily lives. Nothing felt staged, and that’s exactly what I loved about it. It truly felt like experiencing the real Cape Verde. Lunch was another wonderful part of the experience. I had the chance to discover simple, authentic, and delicious local cuisine while enjoying a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You can immediately tell that Véronique knows Palmeira inside out and genuinely loves sharing it with others. She shares fascinating stories, takes the time to answer every question, and introduces you to places I would never have found on my own. I thought I was simply going to visit a village. Instead, I came away with a completely different perspective on Cape Verde. What made that day so special wasn’t just the village itself, but the people I met, the atmosphere, and all those little authentic moments. Thank you Veronique for such a wonderful and memorable experience.
