Stories and Legends of Aachen

1.- Market Square.
The Marktplatz is the historical heart of Aachen, a place full of life,

2.- Cathedral of Aachen (Aachener Dom).
This cathedral is one of the most important monuments in Germany, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

3.- The fountain of money.
You can contemplate this peculiar fountain that represents several characters that seem to be discussing or chatting, an example of the satirical style of the city.

4.- The Elisenbrunnen.
A historic thermal spring still active. This area also has a beautiful garden (Elisengarten) where you can take a short walk.

5.- The monument to the Klenkes
Over time, the gesture of the Klenkes has become a symbol of local identity used by the inhabitants of Aachen.

6.- Bahkauv statue.
The Bahkauv is described as a kind of aquatic monster, with an appearance combining features of various animals.

7.- Fountain of the Dolls.
It is not only a modern monument, but reflects important aspects of Aachen's identity.
