Description

This is the slightly more compact version of the normally two-hour tour I propose.

We will meet next to the Georgsbrunnen at Cathedral Square. Throughout our tour, I will tell you about the most interesting and important historical events, the town’s transition to the bicycle city we see today, and the regional geology by taking a closer look at the building stones of the Minster and the paved streets, as well as the town’s mining past.

The tour ends near the Schlossberg, where we'll enjoy a beautiful view over the Rhine Valley. There, you’ll gain an understanding of the Earth’s processes in the region that shaped the landscape we see today.

If you like the sound of that, I would be more than happy to welcome you on this walking tour.

See you then!

- Cathedral Square
- Historical Merchant’s Hall
- Alte Wache
- Augustinerplatz
- Gewerbekanal
- Swabian Gate
- Platform near the Kanonenplatz with view over Freiburg and Rhine Valley

Includes

  • Gewerbekanal
  • Augustiner-Platz
  • Alte Wache Freiburg - Haus der badischen Weine
  • Münstermarkt

Great tour, super guide

We took the guided tour in Freiburg and we really enjoyed ourselves. The tour was in English, we learnt about main landmarks in the old town, including the cathedral, and walked a bit. The guide is very approachable and shared geology facts in an accessible way that made the tour more interesting. Recommend it!

Awesome

Thibault was very helpful and adapted the tour to our English skills, also using a wide range of explanatory images. In the short time available, he took us to visit the city's main attractions, alternating folkloristic elements with historical and geological information in his explanations. Highly recommended for those who wish to discover interesting and lesser-known aspects of the area.
