Religious Tour: Continuation of the Route of Faith

This itinerary connects key destinations of religious devotion and sacred architecture, from the northern coast to the historic heart of Santo Domingo:

Cathedral of St. Philip the Apostle (Puerto Plata): The tour begins in the vibrant historic center of the “Bride of the Atlantic,” with a visit to this iconic cathedral facing Independence Park, whose architectural design and twin towers symbolize the city’s spiritual life.

Shrine of Our Lady of Mercy (Santo Cerro, La Vega): Continue toward the Cibao Valley to climb the historic hill of Santo Cerro. Discover the revered sanctuary built on the site where, according to tradition, the devotion to the national patron saint began and the colonial struggles of the 15th century took place, while also enjoying a spectacular panoramic view of the valley.

Primatial Cathedral of the Americas (Santo Domingo): Conclude the tour in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo by visiting the first cathedral in the New World (1514–1544), an architectural gem that preserves centuries of foundational history and sacred art in the heart of the capital.
