Description

We’ll start next to the Estación del Norte, one of the jewels of Valencian Modernism, where we’ll admire its impressive decoration featuring ceramics, mosaics, and motifs inspired by the Valencian countryside. From there, we’ll walk through the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, taking in some of its most iconic buildings.

We’ll stroll past elegant Modernist facades to learn about the history of the Valencian bourgeoisie—the families who drove economic growth—and the significance of the symbols, reliefs, mosaics, and decorative elements that still beautify the streets of the Ensanche today.

We’ll conclude the tour at the spectacular Colón Market, considered one of the masterpieces of Valencian Modernism, where we’ll explore how the architecture combined beauty, innovation, and functionality in a city undergoing rapid transformation. The tour allows you to discover the main characteristics of Valencian Modernism, its European influence, and the unique identity it acquired through the use of ceramics, color, and natural motifs.
