During our outdoor visit (entrance tickets to the Oceanogràfic, the main exhibitions of the Science Museum, the Queen Sofía Opera House, and the 3D cinema are not included), we explore the masterpiece of internationally renowned architect Santiago Calatrava.

To fully understand Calatrava’s work in Valencia, it is essential to consider the former riverbed of the Turia River. This area is now home to the City of Arts and Sciences, the most iconic image of 21st-century Valencia. Here, we discover the Oceanogràfic (the aquarium designed by Spanish architect Félix Candela), the Prince Felipe Science Museum, the Umbracle (a landscaped promenade), the Hemisfèric (IMAX cinema), the Àgora building, and the Queen Sofía Opera House.

Without a doubt, this is Calatrava’s most influential project in Spain. It has transformed the surrounding area and has become the city’s main attraction, drawing visitors from all over the world.

Abbiamo fatto questo tour con Enrique, eravamo insieme ad una famiglia spagnola e le spiegazioni in due lingue non sono state un problema, il tour è molto bello e probabilmente senza le spiegazioni di Enrique si andrebbero a perdere molte curiosità che riguardano questa maestosa opera di Calatrava. In poche parole soldi spesi bene e ritorniamo a casa con la consapevolezza di non aver fatto solo un giro per le foto, ma di aver capito cos' è questa opera per la città di Valencia.
