Description

Embark on a unique walking tour through Addis Ababa, where history, culture, and modern life blend seamlessly. Starting from Unity Park near the Ethiopian Science Museum, we’ll pass by the historic Imperial Palace and take in Ethiopia’s rich heritage from the outside.

Next, we’ll stroll through the lively university district, soaking in the energy of bustling markets, vibrant street life, and the aroma of delicious local food. In Piazza, Addis Ababa’s old town, we’ll admire historic architecture influenced by Italian, Armenian, and Greek cultures, stop at Ethiopia’s first hotel for a glimpse of the past, and capture the charm of this storied district.

For stunning city views, we’ll pause at Friendship Park, a peaceful retreat with beautifully landscaped gardens and a breathtaking skyline backdrop. And, of course, no tour is complete without coffee—we’ll take a break at a renowned café to enjoy Ethiopia’s world-famous brew, prepared in the traditional way.

This is a fully immersive walking experience—we won’t be entering any sites, just stopping to admire, take photos, and soak in the city’s atmosphere.

One Good Day in Addis Ababa

The guide was great. A hardworking guy, smart and knowledgeable. (Psst. He even can speak Chinese C level!). He assisted us even though our booking was a very last minute one. As you may see and read, the itinerary was great, covers many major parts in the CBD area. He even took us to experience the local bus. Certainly, you need a guide like Remedan to ensure your day wil be filled effectively. Indeed, this walking tour is a must do if you are going to visit the center of Addis Ababa.

Amazing Addis Ababa

Our tour guide Remeden (Remy)was truly exceptional. He had so much information about all the places he walked us through. I really appreciate his care and attention towards us also. He tried to let us rest when we needed, as we are senior citizens, never rushing us at all. And he actually extended to us extra time to complete the tour. It was definitely a lovely day, spent learning about the history and culture of this beautiful city. Thank you Remy!

Highly Recommended

We had an fantastic experience on the Addis Ababa Free Walking Tour with Remedan. The tour was well-organized and informative. We explored key landmarks and the vibrant student and market districts. Our guide was warm, engaging, and full of knowledge about Ethiopian history, culture, and daily life. If you're in Addis, don’t miss it.
