great tour

I joined the Free Tour of Lancaster and had a fantastic experience. The guide was excellent — knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and full of fascinating stories about the city’s past. Walking through historic spots like Lancaster Castle and learning about the city’s maritime history connected to River Lune really brought Lancaster’s character to life. Of course, hearing about the infamous Pendle witch trials added a dramatic and memorable touch. The pace was perfect — relaxed but packed with interesting detail — and there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions and chat as a group. It felt welcoming and well-organised throughout. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lancaster. It’s a brilliant way to get your bearings while discovering the stories that make the city so unique.

Excellent tour

Started on time, Barrie was very polite and friendly. The tour was very informative, some of the places we would of walked past without noticing the relevance to the city. 2.5 hours was just the right amount of time. Alot of standing and walking so be aware if you have a mobility problem. A must if you are in Lancaster as you learn do much.

Very Informative

We were guided by Barrie, who had prepared us for the visit, by sending through full meeting up instructions. Very informative and was happy to answer questions. His sense of humour was entirely appropriate. Highly recommended
