Description

Norwich is England's best-kept secret. A medieval city with more pre-1700 buildings than any other in the UK, two cathedrals, a Norman castle, England's first UNESCO City of Literature status, and almost nobody outside Norfolk knows it's here.

What you'll see:
1. Outside The Forum (meeting point)
2. The Guildhall. Largest medieval guildhall in provincial England.
3. The Norwich Lanes. Independents only.
4. Norwich Market. 900 years. Birthplace of Colman's Mustard.
5. The Royal Arcade. Edwardian, easy to miss.
6. London Street. First pedestrianised street in the UK.
7. Norwich Castle. Norman keep, 1067.
8. St Andrews Hall. Most complete medieval friary in England.
9. Elm Hill. Cobbled, Netflix filming location.
10. Tombland. Anglo-Saxon heart of the city.
11. Fye Bridge. Oldest river crossing in Norwich.
12. Norwich Cathedral. England's second-tallest spire. No queue, no fee.

Max 15 per group. English. Near-daily, rain or shine. Free to book. Pay what you think it was worth at the end.

Fabulous Norwich Tour

Highly recommend the walking tour with Tom. We learnt such a lot about Norwich in our two hours. Tom’s enthusiasm for the city shone through. He gave invaluable tips on how to spend the rest of the day - which we followed and again I would highly recommend. And also where to find a great coffee.

Norwich free tour

We enjoyed an excellent guided walk around Norwich. Joolz was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the city. Our group was made up of local residents as well as visitors to the city and the tour worked well for both groups

Great way to discover Norwich with a local

Tom did a fantastic job with the tour. We got the key facts, saw the most interesting places and, thanks to him as a local, gained some honest insight into life in Norwich. In around two hours, Tom shows you the city in a very entertaining way and leaves you wanting to explore and enjoy more of it on your own afterwards. Credit card payment is possible. Highly recommended!
