Description

Start your journey by meeting your guide in front of Rustaveli Metro Station, the first and oldest metro station in Georgia. From there, dive into the city's underground world as you ride the metro, experiencing its deepest escalator, which takes 2.5 minutes to descend. Travel through several stations as your local guide shares the fascinating history of Tbilisi’s railway, how it began, evolved, and operates today.

Step off the usual tourist path to see an active mine from the 20th century and explore an abandoned electric depot with a mysterious past. Pass by the historic home of Georgia’s first railway workers, which is rich with stories of the city's railway heritage. Along the way, glimpse abandoned buildings now housing war refugees and hear how they’ve rebuilt their lives with resilience and hope.

But the highlight of the day? A secret, closed-off repair station, hidden from the public.

This is not just a tour. It’s an exclusive adventure into hidden and forbidden locations you won’t find alone. With stories passed down through generations and untold history that never made it into books, this tour uncovers Tbilisi's underground secrets through a local's eyes.

Unusual but highly recommended walking tour

An interesting experience in the lesser-known corners of Tbilisi. Your guide will guide you with passion and kindness, offering a firsthand glimpse into life in these suburbs. Between interesting facts and historical details, the two-hour tour flies by!

Super side quest

Chinka is the absolute best guide delivering the coolest tour! She’s knowledgeable, laid-back, and funny. She patiently and thoroughly answers all questions so need to feel shy. I learned so much about Soviet and contemporary Tbilisi, and yet the whole experience just felt like a walk with my bestie in her hometown. Not to mention she took us on last minute on a holiday when we feeling super deflated, which was so appreciated. (Please don’t follow our example on that though!) Thanks a million Chinka! ????

An unforgetable experience

Natalie was my guide and I was the only participant of her tour. For me, it was an amazing experience. The places we visited were so unique and strange. We dove into areas so exotic and different from the Liberty Square-Tbilisi. Natalie shared her life, her experiences, her opinions and her ideas with me. After the tour I was so happy and pleased with all the things that Natalie showed me. Thank you, Natalie, and I hope, a lot of other people will have a chance to go on a tour with you.

What a surprise

I did not expect to find out so many interesting things and see a very different side of Georgian life. Natalie tells some great stories.

A unique and unexpected experience

If you like “off the beaten track” visits, this is a MUST for you. No historical monument, no city sponsored street art. Just a stroll through old trains and metro depots and the suburbs around it. The tour main asset is the guide, an invaluable and endless source of information about the places you’ll visit (apparently he knows every stray dog by its name) as well as about Georgia history since the collapse of Soviet Union, as seen a real human and not as written in history books. Highly recommended.

Fun walking tour through different neighborhoods

Kasha was very pleasant and had great insights to share about Georgias rich history. We did the tour with a few friends and had a great time.
