Description

Join me for a raw, unfiltered two-hour deep dive into the Jewish Quarter(Party District) of Budapest. We won't just look at the pretty Street art Murals and Statues—we will examine the harsh realities of the politics, confront the complex history of the Jewish Quarter, and explore the current socio-economic situation, uncovering the stories that others often skip.

- District 7 has a strict rule about street art, hence graffities are not part of the tour, as they usually disappear by next morning. - but there is plenty of beautiful art to show you while walking around :-)

Looking forward to seeing you on my tour! :)

**Please note that due to my changing school schedule, sometimes my lovely colleague Burak will do the tour for me**

Budapest unfiltered

Thank you, Burak! We really enjoyed your tour!

Hungary hidden in plain sight!

Burak’s tour of Hungary Unfiltered- the Jewish Quarter and Street Art was eye-opening and thought-provoking. He skillfully took us through the neighborhood we had visited the day before yet didn’t really see before this tour. The history and culture of Budapest were woven through the stories he shared, as well the buildings and artwork of along the route. Burak took us beyond the usual tourist destinations revealing both the vibrancy and despair of a people who have survived war, invasion, fascism and dictatorship. Now as they are on the brink of change and possibility, the fragility of optimism is understandable. The murals he took us to were the perfect medium to convey this message. Burak’s tour helped me to better see the global connections between our countries. We also appreciated his perfectly timed coffee and restroom break as a time to sit and process what we were seeing. Thanks for a powerful and memorable experience!

Great and real and unfiltered tour!

Burak is a great tour guide who is enthusiastic, open and knowledgeable. The tour is not only informative but real, due to the useful and interesting details Burak shared about current Hungarian life, culture, politics and outlook. We really enjoyed the fact that we could ask anything and receive an honest answer. This tour gave us an authentic view of Hungary, which is something you don’t usually get on such tours! Highly recommended!

Exceeded expectations!

Barak brought Budapest’s history to life with his impressive knowledge and engaging stories. He expertly connected the artwork on the façades to historical events, Hungary’s current political situation, and everyday life in the country today. His openness, personal insights, and willingness to answer every question made the tour especially memorable. He shared fascinating perspectives on what it is like to live in Hungary today, giving us a much deeper understanding of the country beyond its history and tourist attractions. If you want to experience authentic Budapest and learn more about both Hungary’s past and present beyond the usual tourist perspective, book this tour with Barak. An absolute must-do!
