Description

A free walking tour to explore the Pest side with a personal feel focused on the true meaning of freedom, a key concept for the Hungarian nation. Listen to stories of heroism and endeavor in the midst of war, chaos and dictatorships. A scenic, panoramic route with hidden gems.

The tour starts in city center of Pest, in front of Molnar's Chimney Cake shop. The next stop is the Inner City Parish Church, the oldest Catholic church of Budapest, with its 15th-century Gothic walls. Next to it we will explore the most ancient origins of the city, the 2000-year-old Roman ruins. Then we will walk along the Danube and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the river and the Buda Castle. We will also see iconic statues and see the majestic Chain Bridge and the romantic Vigadó concert palace. Then we will admire the highlight of our tour: Saint Stephen's Basilica, the monumental and ornate main cathedral of the city. We will finally arrive at Elisabeth Square with the lovers' locks and finish our tour at the Jewish Quarter.

Professional guides who love their homeland and provide an in-depth introduction to the Hungarian psyche and society, not only buildings and mainstream tourist spots.

  • St. Stephen's Basilica
  • Elizabeth Square

Tour around Pest in German language

Really great guided tour around the Pest area of the city in German language. The guide Orsolya made the tour very interesting with extensive knowledge about the history of Hungary and Budapest and we could ask a lot of questions as well. At the end we got recommendations for restaurants and cafes. We highly recommend this tour! Thank you!

Multitalent

Unsere Guide war unheimlich freundlich und sehr fachkundig. Sie als Einheimische konnte nicht nur erzählen, was in den Büchern steht, sondern aus der Perspektive einer Budapesterin. Gerne wieder!
