Description

Take a walk around the medieval town of Ennis, learning about its history and the people who've shaped it. With a compact town center, we can see a lot in a short time.

If you'd like a tour at a different time or date, please book in or send a message, and I'll see if I can accommodate you.

You'll start in the middle of town, right under Daniel O’Connell, before heading down to the Ennis Friary, the original heart of Ennis. After that, we'll loop back to learn about the market, the old jail, and the Sisters of Mercy.

Along the way, I can point out places for you to enjoy a drink and some traditional music, or the best cafes for a tasty bite to eat.

Five star

Jess was very knowledgeable and easy to converse with. Answered our questions and gave us a great insight regarding Ennis and surrounding areas. She also was not in a rush and went way over time for us. Definitely would recommend the tour to others

Lovely tour of Ennis

After clear communication on where and when to meet, Jess took us on a tour of the history of Ennis that covered its places and people. All this was woven into getting an understanding of what’s it’s like to live in modern Ireland and its current social and political position. She gave great advice on local events, bars, places for music and walks which shaped our following 24 hours. . We had a fabulous tour with Jess and cannot thank her enough. Linda and Guy

I learned so much about Irish history and charming Ennis

I loved my walking tour. Jess incorporated Irish history and language with the buildings and places we saw. She also talked about local lore. As we walked, there were people that said hello and had a chat along the way, which was lovely. She did recommend some restaurants and pubs, and I found the recommendations to be very helpful. I came out of the walking tour wanting to spend more time exploring Ennis. But also, as I continued my trip around other parts of Ireland, I kept remembering information Jess shared that really illuminated all of the country for me. I highly recommend Jess's walking tour of Ennis!

ennis tour

Enjoyable tour with Jess who pointed out interesting buildings and sites I would not have spotted myself e.g. the jacobean chimney pot. Jess also gave recommendations on pubs and restaurants. As a history nerd I would have liked more information on the history of the town itself but I enjoyed the tour and recommended it to an American couple in the pub later on.

Ennis and Jess are the best

Ennis is a beautiful small town, but the actual charm of the city shines when Jess tells your everything about it. She is very kind and friendly and I loved how as we walk people would say hello to her. She knows a lot about Ennis history, about Irish history in general, and we had a blast talking to her and sharing a few hours in the morning. I recommend her wholeheartedly 10/10
