Description

Join a thoughtfully designed small group walking tour through Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and gain deeper insight into the moving History of Hiroshima. Led by local guides from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, this experience combines historical perspective and meaningful storytelling. Explore the history beyond dates and monuments, connecting with the human stories and lasting legacy behind them.

Visit both famous landmarks and lesser-known memorials that together help tell the story of August 6, 1945. The tour includes stops such as the Mother and Baby in the Storm statue, a powerful dedication to motherly strength, and the Cenotaph, one of the most important memorials of Peace Park. Learn why water became such an important symbol throughout the park and how paper cranes became connected to Hiroshima’s message of peace. Explore the Atomic Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most powerful reminders of the destructive consequences of nuclear warfare.

Concluding at the Hypocenter, the stories, monuments, and impressions come together to provide a deeper understanding of Hiroshima’s history, resilience, and enduring commitment to peace.

Hiroshima Peace park

Saki was a perfect guide to walk you around Hiroshima Peace park with a lot of details. Also open for every question.

Brilliant guided tour!

Cva was a brilliant guide. We don’t normally do guides but he was able to bring the whole experience alive. Cva had an excellent knowledge of the history on the build up to the Hiroshima atomic bomb which he explained in a way which was easy to absorb and understand, definitely not a whole string of dates and facts. He was also well organised and experienced in handling a group round all the monuments, and in the rain!

nice tour with insides

Had a nice tour with lots of insides! As we were a small group we were able to chat a lot about Japan with our tour guide!

A truly insightful tour of Hiroshima’s history

Saki was an exceptional guide. The tour was incredibly informative and gave us a much deeper understanding of Hiroshima. Her personal perspective, having grown up in the city, brought a real depth and authenticity to the experience that you simply wouldn’t get from a guidebook. She shared her local knowledge with warmth, sensitivity and genuine passion. We are very grateful for the experience and would highly recommend Saki to anyone visiting Hiroshima.
