Khmer Rouge History & Killing Fields/S21 prison

This was an exceptional tour and far exceeded my expectations. Martin was amazing, he provided historic context, local political context and weaved in his own personal story to present and explain a dark and complex period in Cambodian history. It was an extremely moving personal experience. Kumar

Excellent

The history behind this tour is of course a very emotional and heartbreaking one, but to be able to have Martin, a local guide, with us was invaluable. His personal experiences mixed with his knowledge and study of the history made this tour incredibly informative and personal. I recommend this tour, because it allows you to go a step further into the history, and experience the guidance of a local expert.

A powerful and moving tour

We had another excellent tour with Martin, this time visiting S21 (Tuol Sleng) and the Choeung Ek Killing Fields. These are obviously very difficult and emotional places to visit, but Martin guided us through them with great sensitivity and respect. His explanations were clear, detailed and extremely informative, giving us the historical and political context we needed to fully understand what happened during the Khmer Rouge period. We particularly appreciated the way he handled such a difficult subject: never overwhelming, but always honest and thoughtful. He also took the time to answer all our questions and helped us better understand this tragic chapter of Cambodian history and its impact on the country today. A powerful and moving morning, made even more meaningful by Martin’s knowledge and thoughtful guidance. We highly recommend visiting these sites with him.

Excellent insights into the recent history

Very recommended to better understand the recent Cambodian history and hear the experiences of people surviving the atrocities. It is not an easy or light tour, but absolutely needed. Our guide Channak did a great job, thanks!

Worth to visit!! Thank you!!

Im solo traveller, I've taken this tour twice, guided by Martin. It was incredibly helpful, and I learned a lot. Martin spoke clearly and answered all my questions. Thank you, Martin. I highly recommend him as a tour guide. It's worth it!
