Description

People say Podgorica has nothing to see. Let's say it simply. They're wrong!

On this walk, I'll take you through the city's most characterful neighbourhoods and show you the layers most visitors miss completely: the historical landmarks, the political monuments that tell the story of a young country still figuring itself out.

But this isn't a tour of monuments you could read about online. As we walk, I'll introduce you to how Podgorica actually lives: where locals drink their coffee (and why it takes two hours), how the city was rebuilt and reinvented after being destroyed, and what daily life really looks like in Montenegro's capital.

By the end, you won't just know Podgorica's facts. You'll understand its character, and you'll never call it boring again. This is a free, tip-based tour. There's nothing to pay upfront, and at the end you simply tip whatever you feel the experience was worth.

Includes

  • Parliament of Montenegro
  • Podgorica City Center
  • Moscow Bridge
  • Orthodox Temple of Christ's Resurrection
  • King Nikola Monument
  • Сат-кула (Годинникова вежа)
  • A local-guided walk through Podgorica's neighbourhoods, historical, political and religious monuments, real daily life, and tips for your stay.

An amazing guided tour

We took this tour with Damjan, who turned out to be one of the best tour guides we could have hoped for. He was incredibly flexible, and one of his greatest qualities was his ability to pay attention to and understand our interests, adapting the itinerary accordingly to suit the visitors’ preferences. He introduced us to his city, a place he clearly loves, and this passion was evident in the way he combined historical knowledge with personal experiences and interesting facts about the area. Throughout the tour, he genuinely tried to show us why this city deserves to be visited. He was extremely friendly and communicative, with a constant smile on his face and genuine enthusiasm for showing us everything this hidden gem has to offer. We couldn't have asked for a better guide!

Informative and insightful tour

Damjan was very enthusiastic and knowledgable about Podgorica. We found the tour very insightful and may have not been able to experience the true spirit of the city without Damjan's guidance

If you want to meet a really nice person and get to know Podgori

Damjan organises tours for a maximum of five people, and there were just the two of us – me and my boyfriend. I really enjoyed the atmosphere because Damjan had time to answer our questions, and we also chatted a bit about ourselves. He introduced us to Podgorica through various personal stories and interesting historical facts, touching on social, political and cultural topics. It was a very interactive tour and he challenged us at some points when he showed us a superhero from the movies who actually has a sort of monument in Podgorica. I liked that he also gave us his personal opinion on certain aspects, not just cold historical facts. I noticed that he focuses on real history and uses reliable sources, rather than just freely available information. Whilst I’d been on free tours like this before, it was my boyfriend’s first time, and he said he really enjoyed it – I think that’s partly because Damjan was our guide.)

The guide is amazing

The guide organises "private" tours group of 5 max which makes it a really intimate atmosphere(we weren't used to it) which made this tour really wholesome, he answered all our questions, the stories were interesting, I felt some luck in history details about Montenegro and other stuff, honestly there isn't much to see other then the river and couple of bridges, the city itself is mostly reconstructed and not in an organized way a lot of buildings look like communist era and mostly grey and not many landmarks to see, but that's the city itself????
