Oaxaca is considered one of the most beautiful states for its cultural diversity, gastronomy, archeology and biodiversity. In the midst of mountains and plains, the Zapotec and Mixtec cultures settled more than 500 years ago. Later the Spanish conquerors arrived and built the current city, mixing traditions, flavors and colors.

We will walk through the 3 stages of the city: pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern. You will see the green quarry buildings and the colorful houses. You will get to know the huaje trees and the vegetation of the area. We will see the Fortín hill and we will talk about one of the most important festivals: La guelaguetza.

We will talk about social and artistic movements. We can also try a typical drink made of corn and cocoa.

We will give you the best tips to get to know non-tourist places and try the best food at the best price.

Very cool local guide and good tour!

Our guide was Leo for the day. And he really delivered. He told us from his family background in Oaxaca and shared several stories from him and was really interested in getting to know the group as well. The tour was nicely planned and we could even decide where to go exactly and for how long. Overall great tour and I can definitely recommend it!
