Guided Tour of Bergen with a Licensed Guide

Good morning,

This tour will take you into the heart of the fascinating history of Bryggen, the historic district designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a true symbol of Bergen. The tour will trace the city’s history, from the Viking Age to the present day, with a special focus on the Hanseatic period. We’ll talk about Hanseatic merchants, fires, rats, and prostitutes—not to mention beer, stockfish, and… dog soup!

My style combines an academic approach with lively, accessible storytelling, enriched by numerous anecdotes and interesting facts that make discovering Bergen’s history an enjoyable and never-boring experience.

• Weather: The tour takes place regardless of weather conditions. In Bergen, it’s always a good idea to bring an umbrella!

• Payment: The tour operates on a pay-what-you-wish basis. There is no set price; you are therefore free to decide how much the experience was worth to you. If you enjoyed the tour and feel it helped you get to know Bergen better, any contribution will be greatly appreciated. I gladly accept EUR!

See you soon
