Description

Explore Krakow's Jewish Quarter and former Ghetto and learn all about Jewish culture in Krakow. Additionally, experience how Jews had to spend their lives during the Second World War with our free walking tour in English — a journey through cobblestone streets, past (former) synagogues, iconic buildings, and centuries of fascinating history. This district, named Kazimierz, was central during the Second World War. During this tour, we also visit the Podgorze district, the place where all Jews were forced to relocate during the Second World War. Because Hitler wanted to preserve the Kazimierz district, it remained virtually untouched during the Second World War, making it one of the few that did so, and today it is one of the best-preserved districts in Europe. We end our tour in the Podgorze district at the famous monument with the empty, unused chairs.

And as a bonus after the tour, you will receive handy tools to discover Krakow like a local: a map of public restrooms, recommended dining spots, ATMs, and even our personal “Black List” — yes, those places we’d rather advise against. Everything carefully curated to make your stay easier, tastier, and more authentic.

The Historical Storytelling

A truly eye-opening walk through Kazimierz that balances rich history with a deeply moving story. The guide’s knowledge brought the streets and historic synagogues to life.

Hats off to Maciej!

Ok I joined this tour after doing the jewish history with Maciej the day before. Tbh, made my visit to Prague one of the best I did recently! So much richness in the story, and kindness looking after our group. Congrats!

2nd tour of my day

We heard at the end of our tour in the morning from our guide that he was leading this tour too. Because we liked the tour in the morning we decided to join also this tour. It was a very interesting tour about the Jewish history of Krakow. I myself never knew that there had lived so many jews in this city and Poland. Because the guide told that around 25% of the city was jewish it maked it extra interesting to listen.
