Description

A tour to discover the side of the city that isn’t immediately apparent. We’ll stroll at a leisurely pace, away from large groups, through narrow streets, stories, and details that often escape the notice of hurried tourists. A different way to understand the city, its character, its contradictions, and its more human side.

- Igreja do Carmo: the “blue wall” of azulejos, a testament to art, faith, and identity.
- Clérigos: climbs, narrow streets, and viewpoints that change at every turn, leading up to the bell tower—the city’s symbol.
- Livraria Lello: a global icon… its much-discussed connection to Harry Potter, somewhere between myth and reality (without losing any of the magic).
- São Bento: some 20,000 azulejos (tiles) that depict events, scenes, and legends.
- Rua das Flores: time-honored elegance and its little details waiting to be discovered.
- Sé (Cathedral): medieval roots and panoramic views—the oldest part of Porto.
- Luís I Bridge: the most famous bridge, with a breathtaking view of the Douro.

These are just a few of the stops: we’ll discover the rest as we walk. If you’re looking for an authentic experience away from mass tourism, this is the tour for you.

Very nice tour

We really enjoyed the tour with Daniel! We explored the main highlights of the city, and we were especially impressed by his simple, genuine, and honest way of telling the story of his hometown. The tour helped us discover the city from a different perspective. I recommend it!

Kinda like a private tour

We had a tour with Daniel and since noone else booked we did it in a small, personal group. The tour was great, we got a lot of useful and interesting information about Porto and Portuguese culture. Daniel is a very friendly and sympathetic guy. Thanks for the great tour, we would to it again 10/10 times!

Superb tour

We really enjoyed the tour with Daniel. He was very informative and personable. The tour we took was the day after the protests which Daniel touched upon to give us a realistic picture of local life in Porto and Portugal as well as giving us some great ideas to experience Porto's more touristy options. We would recommend this tour!

Lovely tour

Daniel was a great guide for our introduction to Porto. As a student at Porto University he was very knowledgeable and passionate about his city. The tour covered the locations of the major sites, with plenty of background history and enjoyable anecdotes. Great way to get an overview of this lovely city, so we could get our bearings and then re- visit at leisure. The walk was well paced with time for photo stops and even a pastel del nata !
