Cooking Class in Samarkand

This cooking class was one of the highlights of my trip to Samar

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with local people and experience the real traditional food culture of Samarkand, rather than simply visiting the usual tourist attractions. Our guide was extremely kind and made the whole experience enjoyable from the very beginning, including shopping for ingredients at the local bazaar. Thanks to his explanations, I gained a much deeper understanding of the local food, traditions, and culture, which made my trip to Samarkand even more meaningful. The traditional house we visited was also very special. It is part of Samarkand’s UNESCO World Heritage area, so the experience was not only about cooking, but also about discovering the city’s fascinating cultural heritage. We made plov and samsa together, and enjoyed them freshly cooked. Personally, they were some of the most delicious dishes I had during my entire stay in Samarkand! I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to go beyond sightseeing and discover the real culture, food, and people of Samarkand.

Cooking

We zijn bij een familie wezen koken, dit was heerlijk. Maar vooral de gids heeft er voor gezorgd dat het zo leuk was Ulugbek was onze gids, een jonge jongen die serieus is. Hij kan veel vertelen over Samarkand en hoe het in de families er aan toe gaat. Zijn interesse is groot en weet ook veel over andere culturen en landen. We hebben een hele leuke dag gehad.
