Description

My tour is based on historical landmarks in our city and the impact its location has had on the changing times throughout our history.

We start our our Tour at the Mesopotamia Restaurant located at the very historical Green Market Square which was once the central location of Cape Town before land reclamation from the ocean. At St George’s Mall many are surprised to see an original Segment of the Berlin Wall in front of another historical building, the Mandela Rhodes Foundation, which was built in honor of a very complex and controversial British imperialist during the 19th century.

Then onto St. George's Cathedral, a very Victorian structure where a Black man in South Africa was elected as the very first Black Arch Bishop of the church towards the end of apartheid. At the Apartheid benches, you'll learn about how the minority whites of South Africa set these laws in practice. Into the Company Gardens we go, a beautiful and tranquil park which was one of the first pieces of land where the first fresh produce supply farm was grown. Next is the Parliament buildings, then onto the Slave Museum, Dutch Reformed Church and ending at the City Hall.
