Description

Discover Vancouver beyond the postcard views with Ati and Orsi, husband-and-wife licensed tourism guides.

Long before Vancouver existed, these lands were home to thriving Indigenous communities. Explore the heritage of the Coast Salish Peoples—including the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations—and learn how their cultures, traditions and relationship with the land endured through colonization and continue today.

For Ati and Orsi, this subject is personal. Two decades of working alongside West Coast First Nations communities created a lasting respect for Indigenous cultures and perspectives that they bring into their storytelling.

From Indigenous history to European exploration, colonization and Vancouver’s colourful early years, discover fascinating characters, legends, architecture, nature and hidden stories behind the modern skyline.

Bring your camera or phone! Ati, a professional photographer trained at the New York Institute of Photography, also shares practical tips to help you capture memorable images of Vancouver.

We had a truly excellent and extraordinary tour with Ati: He has such amazing and in-depth knowledge, has a great sense of humor, and is brimming with enthusiasm for his work and the city! I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour to everyone! If we ever come back to Vancouver, we’ll definitely book another tour, because Ati surely has much more to share!

The interesting tour

The tour guide is so enthusiastic. He contacted me to indicate his exact location until I met him. The walk showed me much more about indigenous architecture of Vancouver City, the city history, famous leaves, animals, birds. I was impressed by the City Library with its own modern beauty. The Tour is so wonderful. Thank you so much!

Excellent tour and wonderful personal attention!

Excellent tour and wonderful personal attention! What impressed us most was that Ati’s tour experience started even before we met him! He contacted us through WhatsApp, welcomed us to Vancouver and shared fascinating illustrated information about the city’s early history. During the walk, he was friendly, enthusiastic and always happy to answer our questions. We learned about Indigenous history, Vancouver’s architecture and many local traditions and legends. Even after the tour, Ati sent us more historical material and useful suggestions for other places to visit in Vancouver and British Columbia. It felt much more personal than a typical sightseeing tour. We really appreciated the extra care and attention. Highly recommended!
